Professor Ivanov Vladimir Gennadievich and Professor Rezanenko Volodymyr visited us for academic exchange

At our invitation, Professor Ivanov Vladimir Gennadievich and Professor Rezanenko Volodymyr from Ukraine visited us for academic exchange from Oct. 21st to 22nd.

On 26th, Vice Principal Pan Baotian met the two scholars and talked with them about academic exchange and cooperation.

On 21st, in room 1423 Qiyun Building,Ivanov Vladimir Gennadievich gave the lecture “Social and political reform of Ukraine after the dissolution & the Chinese experience of reform”. Present at the lecture were Professor Zhang Xinping from School of Marxism, Professor Yang Shu from Institute for Central Asian Studies, associate Professor Xie Yazhou and other scholars and 150-odd students. Ivanov Vladimir Gennadievich emphasized the significance of academic exchange for Sino-Ukraine friendship and partnership, interpreted the problems that arose in the Ukraine reform, and highly appreciated the Chinese experience. While discussing the post-Union imbalance in world politics, he applauded the important role played by China in improving the new world order.

On 22nd ,Rezanenko Volodymyr gave a lecture on China’s road of renewing the nation as perceived by Ukraine scholars. The lecture took place in room A302 Tianshan Buiding Yuzhong Campus and was chaired by Professor Meng Hui and attended by 120-odd students. Based on his understanding of the traditional Chinese culture, Rezanenko Volodymyr interpreted the connotation of renewal of the nation, and suggested that Ukraine should learn the Chinese experience of relying on the people. He fully appreciated the positive impacts of Confucius Academy, and pointed out that Ukraine needs to draw political wisdom from Chinese culture.

Professor Zhang Xinping noted that as a preliminary move of “inviting esteemed foreign scholars to our university”, this activity laid a foundation for our future work of academic exchange and cooperation with the universities along Belt & Road.
